You Are Always …

Posted on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Uncategorized

DollarAs my friend Mandy reminded us yesterday, like a dollar that’s seen better days, you’re value never changes.

Though this dollar has been folded and crumpled up, stomped down, torn off and snotted-on, it’s still just as valuable; it’s a dollar.

Even though you may have been unplanned, felt unwanted, been abused or discarded, felt unprotected or abandoned, misrepresented or misunderstood, you’re still just as valuable; you’re a unique, irreplaceable, invaluable, never-gonna-be-repeated human being.

No one could ever offer your unique perspective, you’re unique history, your unique combination of gifts and talents; you are absolutely irreplaceable.

So when life seems to have folded you you smaller, crumpled you up, stomped you down, torn you off and snotted on you, hold tight with the strength God will give you, because our Creator has made you lovable, capable & worthwhile all the time, everywhere, forever.

How?

How can we hold up when life seems to want to tear us down?

When we lean on God, God will not let you stumble. Though we want to trust people completely, they can’t be there for us 24/7/365 like our Creator can, because God never slumbers nor sleeps.  1

The Lord himself watches over you!
A relationship with God is personal.

The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade.
A relationship with God is protective.

The sun will not harm you by day.
A relationship with God guards us when life gets uncomfortable.

nor the moon at night.
A relationship with God comforts us when life gets scary.

The Lord keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
A relationship with God is a permanent solution.

The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go
A relationship with God goes with you wherever you go.

both now and forever. 2
A relationship with God is here, there and everywhere, all-the-time.

#mysilentscream is “You ARE always lovable, capable and worthwhile and God guarantees it.”

1 – I lean on God most often by praying, “God, please help me … ” and then rest, trust and listen.

2 – Quoted text from Psalm 121, NLT

  1. How about knowledge doesn’t lose value instead? HA! Working for a financial institution, I can’t agree with a dollar not changing in value. Just giving you grief Scott. 🙂 I enjoy reading MSS. Thanks for sharing!

  2. Thanks Angi!
I was awaiting some clever financially astute push-back!
Fortunately I can counter, it’s still worth a dollar even if a dollar is only worth a “dollar.”
    I’ve found http://www.usinflationcalculator.com/ interesting.
If their calculations are correct 1914’s “dollar” would have bought $23.63 today.

  3. You are too funny. I love the calculator!

  4. I love that calculator too; it’s a bit distressing though

  5. Its such as you learn my thoughts! You appear to understand so much approximately this, such as you wrote
the e-book in it or something. I feel that you simply can do with
a few p.c. to drive the message home a bit, but other than
that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.

  6. My brother recommended I would possibly like this web site.

He used to be entirely right. This publish truly made my day.
You can not imagine just how a lot time I had spent for this info!
    Thanks!

  7. You’re very kind, thank you for joining us!

  8. Again, thank you.

  9. Hi! I know this is kinda off topic however I’d figured I’d ask.
Would you be interested in trading links or maybe guest authoring a
blog article or vice-versa? My website goes over a lot of
the same subjects as yours and I believe we could greatly benefit from each other.
If you’re interested feel free to send me an e-mail.
I look forward to hearing from you! Great blog by the way!

  10. Welcome.
    I appreciate your kind comment.
    I’m honored by your request.
    Thank you.

  11. We stumbled over here by a different page and thought I may as well check things out.
