World Series Reading List

Posted on Saturday, October 26, 2013 in Uncategorized

As I write this review, we’re in the midst of the 2013 World Series. The St Louis Cardinals and the Boston Red Sox are battling for the title World Champions.

I have just finished a couple baseball-themed books I think you might enjoy too.

Playing w PurposePlaying with Purpose: Baseball by Mike Yorkey

Playing with Purpose: Baseball by Mike Yorkey takes the readers behind the scenes and into the lives, values and faith of some of the best baseball players who have ever lived including Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, future Hall of Famer Albert Pujoles and Mariano Rivera.

Red Sox shortstop Stephen Drew heads the rest of the list Yorkey highlights including Ben Zobrist, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Gonzalez, Josh Hamilton, Jeremy Affeldt, Matt Capps, Mark Texeria, Brian Roberts, and Josh Willingham.

If you love baseball and getting to know MLB players on a deeper level you’ll enjoy reading Mike Yorkey’s Playing with Purpose: Baseball as much as I did.

Baseball HOSBaseball Hall of Shame: The Best of Blooperstown by Bruce Nash and Allan Zullo

I love reading about baseball and about history. Bruce Nash and co-author Allan Zullo pursue and expose some wonderfully funny moments in baseball history that they like to think are “the most outrageous moments of all time.” I you enjoy either baseball or history and enjoy laughing then I believe that you’ll enjoy reading The Baseball Hall of Shame as much as I have.
