News of the escalating tension in Libya fill the news reports.

While Libya gets the press, there are ongoing wars throughout the world.

The Heidelberg Institute for International Conflict Research (HIIK) studies national and international political conflicts. According to the HIIK the most violent and bloody wars are presently fought in Iraq, Pakistan, Sudan, Somalia, and Mexico.

That’s right, though the streets in the United States are troubled by crime, the Mexican drug cartel war sitting right at the southern border of the United States is on par with the violence in the Middle East.

Those wars are far too important to sidestep, but they also deserve a more informed opinion than my own.

On the other hand, this week I’m going to address the war within; the war within each of us. While it will not reach the evening news, each of us wage an on-going internal Self-Esteem Civil War.
