Tyler Wood’s Funeral Service
September 24, 2009 @ Edinbrook Church
Hi. My name is Scott Volltrauer and I have the incredible privilege of leading this service. As I look around the room I see people who have known Tyler longer, known her more intimately and loved her more deeply than I could imagine. To each of you I ask you to be patient with me as we reflect together on Tyler’s life.
Many of us loved Tyler, but only Tyler’s parents know the depth of the joy when she first said “Mommy” or “Daddy”, or the first “I love you.” Her grandparents rocked her to sleep and her brother watched his little sister grow into a maturing woman. A week ago they had no idea that they would be here today.
You watched her grow too. I have only known her for a couple of years and yet at TreeHouse we have seen her change so much.
Tyler had a 195 Facebook friends. Look around, Tyler obviously had many more loved ones!
Tyler liked to call herself Toxic Wolf. To be honest I always had a problem with that.
I never saw her as toxic anything.
A few days before she passed away Tyler took a Facebook quiz. She liked the results enough to post them. The quiz was to “discover the true meaning of her name.”
T = Talented
Y = Yummy
L = Loyal
E = Excellent
R = Robust
That’s more like what I thought about Tyler.
