Is grace happening to you?
Is grace happening in you?
Is grace happening through you?
I’ve been stuck emotionally and spiritually more than I’d like to admit. Raise your hand if you can relate? Okay, we’re all “not alone.” But, let’s not stay stuck!
Looking to take a step forward in your life?
Want your actions to more closely match your intentions?

Love – Tired of empty expressions of “love”?

I’m thinking through what this means for me today, tomorrow, and my tomorrows.
What does the Lord your God require of you?
He requires only that you
fear the Lord your God,
and live in a way that pleases him,
and love him
and serve him with all your heart and soul.
– Deuteronomy 10:12, NLT

It’s the 13th; the 13th of the month.
It’s FRIDAY the 13th.
For some of you that conjures up images of Jason Voorhees, and others a superstitious fear of Friday the 13th.
My Friday the 13ths are neither a horror story, nor unlucky. Just the opposite!
Amy & I started going out on Friday the 13th.
We married on the 13th.
Amy’s birthday is on a 13th.
Today is the 313th 13th that Amy & I have been “going out.”
It’s been 1361 weeks.
It’s been 9527 days.
And, I’m still counting my blessings!

Last week I was on a TreeHouse staff retreat. While we were there we were each invited to take a full uninterrupted hour to “tell our story.” Our autobiographic tale had no apparent form or content requirements. Each person told it her or his way.
I loved listening to others talk about their childhood. I admired their successes. I commend their humility in sharing some of their lowest lows. We laughed. We cried. We prayed.
Unfortunately, I had to leave the retreat early. I didn’t get to hear two of colleagues stories [yet!]. And, I didn’t get to tell “my story.” Our small group leader mentioned that I “have other means to tell my story.”

I love this picture.
I see friendship, camaraderie, community, peace and hope.
On our best days TreeHouse feels like that.
Every time I meet someone I know they have legitimate needs and wants, hopes and dreams.
One of our hopes and dreams includes are desire for genuine community.
Community Vs. “Community Compromisers”
We want to know others and to be known by others. Known for who we are are, not for who we pretend to be. There are practices that compromise our safety in a community.
