In honor of Shawn White’s courage and determination and hard work, if you want to have a Gold-Medal winning friendship I’ve got some advice.
“Wait a minute!” I know, this week I’m writing about Pro Bowl quality friendships, but I’m diverting the metaphor for today.
I know mixing my metaphors is a no-no, but he got a perfect score!
Locate The Trouble Spot – Try to assess what has gone wrong. Ask yourself, “How did we get into this mess?”

The summer of my sophomore year of high school I had to go to summer school. I didn’t need the credits. My parents wanted me to keep learning, keep me busy and help me to stay out of trouble. It was a wise parenting strategy. I loved to learn and summer school had smaller classes and mostly stress-free.
I wasn’t alone, but I was in the minority. Most of the students didn’t want to be there. Some kids resented being in summer school. Other kids felt defective being there.

If you want to find the buried treasure you have to look for it.
One of the keys to finding buried treasure is to look beyond the obvious.
That applies to people too.
If you want to express your love and help your loved ones to experience personal growth look for the buried treasure. Try to find the positives in what may often feel like negatives. 1
Negative: Nosy
Positive: He/She likes to be very alert, friendly or social.
Negative: Touchy
Positive: He/She likes to be very sensitive.
