Tsunamis, Shorelines and the Sloppy Messes of Life
While in Oahu Amy and I stayed at a beautiful place close to the ocean.
“Close” is an understatement. Outside our cottage was the beach. Twenty or thirty feet of beach and a subtle slope separated us from the ocean.
On that beach, sitting in a lounge chair, feet away from the ocean I took pictures of the best sunrise of my life.
Shorelines
Most people I know have been captivated by shorelines. Decide for yourself. What thoughts or feelings come to mind when you see these pictures?

Embrace Your Creativity
When I was a little boy my mom and dad taught me to color in coloring books. When I was in second grade my mom helped me write my first poem. That was the extent of my artistic success as a child.
Starting in elementary school I felt out of place in art class. I never understood what to do in art. I felt trapped by my lack of understanding how to do whatever we were assigned to do.
Embrace Your Uniqueness pt 2 of 2
How are you feeling? Maybe you’re doing great; maybe not. Many times I feel like that swan in the middle: Everyone is heading in one direction except me.
Sometimes it’s hard to keep focused on the best things in life while every message in print or via the media seems to tell me that what I have is not good enough.
Know what I mean?
In my heart I know I’m heading the right way. For the last several years I have embraced the fact that I am unique. I may not always get it right, but sometimes it’s great to be different.
