The Best Sunrise Of My Life

Saturday, February 25th I woke up in Hawaii.  Amy’s dream come true; and since it was #1 on her list, it was mine too.

So, as tears fill my eyes thinking about that I realized that Saturday, February 25th at 6:08am started the best morning of my life, ever!

This Christmas week was very different. For the first time since we got married we did not travel.  We had a great time the 23rd — our Christmas — but the 24th & 25th felt a little empty and lonely.

Don’t get me wrong, we had a peaceful and blessed Christmas week, it was just different than in the past.

Perilous Presents

If our family and friends depended on me knowing their interests and needs they would never get anything.  Whether I’m being frugal or I’m ignorant, I simply don’t know what people like.

We’ve had a garage sale at our house this week.

I’ve noticed two things that disturb me. 

First, far too many of the things in our house arrived in our house because of my greed. 

Second, I am not alone.  Many of our customers bought with greedy abandon.

Greed is enticing.
Greed is deceitful.
Greed is deceptive.
Greed is a trap.

Okay, how cool is that.  I was just thinking about my friend Jonnie & I was about to write about my friend Erica.

They walked into the coffee shop I’m in, together!

Let me explain.

Jonnie and his brother Nate are in the Navy.  Jonnie will soon join Nate in Hawaii.  Nate will be stationed there until he is re-assigned to Guam.

I was thinking about Jonnie because next Spring I will see his smiling face IN Hawaii.

What?

Yeah, I know, right?!?!

We no longer use credit cards, so a “plastic vacation” is not an option.
