I’m turning 50 this week.
I’m not yet fifty — it’s just seven days away — but I thought I’d lead you through my journey, and maybe you’ll learn a thing or two that will help you on your journey.
I Love Science
As far back as I can remember I’ve loved science.
Scotty the Scientist they called me. My curiosity has reigned big in my life since I was little.
Excursus – Let me express my thanks to my sister Kristie for all the great digital pictures of me she’s providing this week. Thanks Kristie!
Whether it was reading National Geographic or the latest NASA updates I wanted to be informed.
I brought and read Golden Guides everywhere. Through them:
– I learned about plant life
– I learned about animal life
– I learned about outer space
– And, life underwater
Fortunately my parents supported my curiosity. Together as a family,
We marveled at the water-bound life in The Shedd Aquarium.
We experienced the dinosaur exhibits at the Field Museum of Natural History.
We learned about science and technology at the Museum of Science and Industry.
We enjoyed visit to Lincoln Park Zoo.
We explored space at the Adler Planetarium.
And, best of all, I loved our membership to Brookfield Zoo.
My parents even took my sister and I on a trip to Florida to the Kennedy Space Center, which ironically also celebrated it’s 50th birthday this year.
Today my fascination with science continues, a quick peak at some of my ebooks on my computer reveals my interest in:
– Quantum Physics
– Social Intelligence
– Human Biology
So, if you ever felt like my curiosity about you, your life and your journey was warm and friendly, you were right, but it was also Scotty the Scientist learning something special about you.
Thanks for taking the time to care and read about me.
