Remember Me

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me. 1

Sharon Williams is sixty-six years old.  She is a mother of five children, and a grandmother of several grandchildren.  Sharon spent her professional career trying to make the world a better place.

Several years ago she chose to hear God’s call to “remember me.”

Sharon was a good person, but with God’s help she became a life-transforming person.

In the years since Sharon retired from public service she continues to serve the community helping organizations raise money from the comfort of her living room.

I met Sharon in her living room last week.  Sharon apologized as she sat while we greeted her.

You see, Sharon has had two hip replacements.  She explained, the “first one was a breeze.  The second one…” Her voiced trailed off into that place where unvoiced pain lives.

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me.

Sharon’s second surgery has left her physically limited.  Though she attends her daily physical therapy sessions the progress is minimal, and painful.

Life has become a pain-filled chore.
– Shifting her weight hurts.
– Standing up is a balancing act.
– Moving requires a walker.
– Going to the bathroom a chore.
– The basement is a distant memory.

Life as she’s known it is gone.
Life, as she now lives it, has become very difficult for Sharon.

Pain and problems help praying to come easier for Sharon than it used to.

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me.

Sharon wanted some home repairs and updates, but money limits and a scamming handyman had made those changes more unlikely, until God answered her prayers.

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me.

TreeHouse teens & staff — in association with Teen Serve — repainted, repaired and rebuilt several homes of the poor, elderly and physically limited.  In all the TreeHouse team of more than one hundred combined with another couple hundred teens and adults to complete more than seventy life-transforming, hope-filling projects.  We were even featured on the local news!

Last week Andy, Amber, Wade, Liz, Marquise and I repaired Sharon’s bedroom wall, varnished her living room floor, and painted her bedroom, kitchen and bedroom. For FREE!

Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people; come near and rescue me.

God generously answered Sharon’s prayers.

Would you be willing to help me with mine?

I have made a commitment to raise money for TreeHouse.

If you’re willing and interested in being someone who is the answer to my prayers, you can donate to TreeHouse online herePlease mention my name in your donation.
