Sometimes, I wrote yesterday, when our hearts are exposed we seem like a car in need of a jump-start: cold, (e)motionless and hard as steel.
I asked: How’s your character?
Does Your Character Need A Jump-Start?
Our music affects us.
Does yours lift you up or tear you down?
Our friends’ influence us.
Do your friends build your character or burden your conscience?
Our books teach us
Is your reading list bad, neutral or helpful? Why settle for bad or neutral?
Our mentors guide us
Do you follow your mentor’s lead or make excuses and postpone progress?
Our decisions expose us
When your flaws surface do you deny them, embrace them or fess up & straighten up?
Jesus Christ offers each of us a brand new start spiritually.
“Stay joined to me,” Jesus said, “and I will stay joined to you. Just as a branch cannot produce fruit unless it stays joined to the vine, you cannot produce fruit unless you stay joined to me.” 1
Unfortunately, we won’t become everything we were meant to become until we’re in heaven. Fortunately, we were never good enough to get God’s forgiveness and we’ll never do anything to lose it.
So, don’t worry, but don’t settle.
Time to connect the jumper cables and jump-start your life.
“Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious standard, and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ. God sent him to die in our place to take away our sins. We receive forgiveness through faith in the blood of Jesus’ death.” 2
The invitation has been extended, together let’s connect to the source of life so we can become who we were meant to be. It’s time for a jump-start.
