Did you read about my dream?
If not, please do. Here’s a link.
I dreamt about praying because I believe God is near.
In my dream I did what has become normal, natural and routine for me: I continued the conversation.
My wife Amy is right there —->
If I don’t think I have her attention I might say, “Aim!”, “Hey!”, “Cutie!” or “Amy!” to get her attention, but typically she is aware of me and her love for me when she is around me will tune her to me when I want her attention.
If I look in her direction she senses it.
If I’m congested, and am I, and I snort, she looks over at me (and laughs at me).
If I’m thinking of something, she is somehow aware of it, and will ask me what I’m thinking.
Amy’s love for me inclines her attention to me even when it’s focused elsewhere.
God — and God’s love — is so much more.
Even when I walk through the darkest valley,
I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. 1
God never is in the basement doing laundry so that I have to shout.
God is never making a fruit smoothie so loud that God cannot hear me talking.
God’s never so focused on a youtube video that God doesn’t notice me.
If you could live as though God were beside you and with you all the time — as indeed God is — you would be the richest person you know.
1 – Psalm 23:4, NLT
