Gratitude Leads To Contentment
As I was approaching fifty years old I sought the wisdom of my elders. I sought out men and women older than I was to learn lessons on life that they had been learning.
Monday I began a series entitled A Treasure Chest Of Wisdom, including:
1. Don’t Hold Grudges
2. Take Care Of Your Health.
3. Compassion Makes Sense and Giving Is Better Than Taking
4. Greed Gains Momentum
Instead of focusing on what we don’t have, it’s important to be grateful for the amazing gifts we already have.
Loving family
Faithful friends
Good health
An ability to see
An ability to hear
An ability to speak
And my favorite, an ability to sense and feel touch
A love of music
The delight of books
The beauty of nature
The beauty of art
A wonderful ability to create
For those and many more, we can choose to be and feel grateful every day.
Gratitude Leads To Contentment
We can choose to Cultivate Contentment despite our tendencies.
We can choose Contentment Despite Circumstances.
We can choose to allow our contentment to free us to be generous.
That’s what I’m looking forward to, less selfishness and more generous.
More tomorrow.
