Posted on Monday, April 11, 2011 in Uncategorized

Tonight is the TreeHouse Volunteer Recognition Celebration.  We have great, honorable, servant-hearted volunteers.  I was asked to nominate one for an award.  I chose to nominate Dawn Miller, our longest term volunteer.  You may or may not know Dawn, but you would like to know her.  She is an honorable and honor-worthy woman.

Please describe the nominee’s length/ frequency of service over the past year:

Since 2000, for the last eleven years, Dawn Miller has been a faithful, teachable and exemplary volunteer.

Dawn is a weekly teen support group facilitator. Dawn has also followed up with hurting students who needed additional support, provided transportation, assisted with administrative practices and been a positive role model for staff and students alike.

Dawn has prepared and presented meaningful life transforming lessons.

Dawn has a good heart evidenced by showing patience, compassion and setting a good moral example of Christ-like character despite working with “at risk youth”.

How has the nominee acted as that essential piece to the TreeHouse puzzle?  Please give specifics.

Dawn helps create a safe, respectful environment in which youth can experience a sense of belonging and support in constructive ways.

What impact has the nominee’s efforts provided to TreeHouse?

She teaches skills and provide opportunities that enable youth to:

– Identify and communicate feelings
