Clean Water

Posted on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 in Uncategorized

I love this picture.  It takes me by surprise how much I love capturing this picture.

This little squirrel lives in our backyard.  We call this squirrel “Junior White Paws.”

Junior White Paws lives with White Paws in a nest in the tree outside our sliding glass door.

Junior White Paws is an active little squirrels who likes corn, peanuts and clean water.

This little squirrel gets to enjoy cleaner water than millions of people on this planet.  Clean, filtered water — free from contaminants — this squirrel is among the wealthy and privileged class of squirrels and people alike.

One day a little girl was asked by her teacher to list the ” Seven Wonders Of The World”, with insight far wiser than her years would warrant she replied: 1

1. Seeing
2. Hearing
3. Tasting
4. Touching
5. Running
6. Laughing
7. Loving

I would add that an eighth wonder would be that a squirrel would enjoy cleaner water than millions of people.

I like squirrels.  They are cute and fun to watch.  They are also ambitious, determined, playful and hard working.  Those attributes alone should not place them among the privileged of the planet.  They are also blessed to have been born in a nation of prosperity.  Just like you and I.

If you would like to join us, we are investing some of our resources to help the less affluent people to enjoy clean drinking water like this squirrel.

Here are four organizations that our family supports which provide clean water for those less fortunate that you and me.

Please join us in this “season of giving” to give water.

World Relief

World Vision

Charity Water

Or victims of devastating floods surrounded by contaminated water desperately thirsty for clean water:

In Pakistan and India

In Thailand

None of us can do everything, but all of us can do something.

The Bible explains that some people will be stunned to know that they didn’t do enough, but others will be thrilled when they realize that their kindness genuinely reflected their faith and love of Jesus Christ:

‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’ 2

This squirrel drinks clean water and millions of people cannot.  This is mysilentscream!
